Basil as 1920s gent

As a companion to Zoie’s flapper girl painting made for The Kims family, I selected Basil to be transformed into a gentleman companion for Zoie. The background is actually a pattern selected from a photo that showed Basil sitting comfortably in a chair with a maroon crushed velvet French-style 1800s fabric pattern. A nice touch, I thought, because Basil looked quite satisfied sitting in such a setting in the original photo. This was I believe my first time painting a terrier mix, and I gotta say I enjoyed working on the big brown eyes!
