Echo as Frida

Echo was the product of an unplanned family blossoming between a Boxer mom and a Great Dane father that belonged to friends of Amber’s out in Del City, Oklahoma. Amber wanted a big dog, and while she’s not as big as her Dane father, she’s about a 100lbs and her personality is as big as it gets. One of the first photos Amber took of her when we brought her home had one of her ears folded back in it and it looked like a rose to me, and in that moment I knew I was going to paint her as Frida Kahlo, and with as many vibrant colors as possible to match her very colorful personality. Echo is painted on an 8x16 wood canvas, my favorite size for these type of paintings.
